Happy New Year!

We had a wonderfully full and happy holiday season! Thought we’d share some of the highlights with you here.

It all started with Christmas Eve dinner at Baba’s house. Mom always says we’re the greatest gifts she’s ever received, so we just added bows and regifted ourselves…

Christmas Day brought a visit from Santa Claus, Gigi’s arrival, Christmas dinner with loads of family, and playtime with our newest things.

Morgan took her dog Buster for a walk…

Then she washed Mason’s hair in her new salon…

After dinner we baked with Aunt Kels in her new Easy Bake Oven…

After Christmas, we headed south so Mom and Dad could cheer for the Baylor Bears. We enjoyed playing in the Occupy Papa and Grammie’s campsite…

We left some notes behind for Papa and Grammie on their patio. It doesn’t rain in San Antonio, so they’ll be there for quite a while!

And on the way back home, we stopped to see the Baylor bears and congratulate them on the big victory!

We even took some family shots on campus. Here’s the one Morgan took…

And here’s the one Mason took…

We hugged on tons of family and friends and enjoyed every single minute of the last two weeks. All of this excitement meant we crashed out well before the new year started, but we plan to celebrate each new day like always. We hope you were blessed this season as much as we were! Sending love and wishes for a wonderful 2012!

The Greatest Gift

Buddy cozied up with the nativity people last night to hear about Baby Jesus. What a great story!

This morning we had to hunt quite a bit for Buddy. You can see that in the first video below. You might also notice Morgan’s puffy lip from her girl vs. tile floor match last night. Ouch!

The second video shows our “Baby Jesus” advent calendar that we do each day. Today was the day we’ve been waiting for! The last door! You’ll also witness Mason’s slight OCD with advent cast placement. Wonder where he got that trait?

Measuring Up and Nutting Out

Christmas must be very close because last night Buddy was measuring our stockings. He’ll need the proper dimensions to help Santa plan for the big night!

We enjoyed a nice cool day at the Dallas Arboretum with a brief visit with Snow White, a glance at Dasher, and some fresh air and running around! One of our favorite stops was with these giant nutcrackers. We thought we would do an impersonation…whaddya think?

It’s hard to be hot when you’re this cool

Ok, that’s not a real picture, but that’s how it feels this summer! We’ve been busy staying COOL and having fun!

We had a COOL fourth of July.

And we’ve been staying COOL at the water park.

We saw a COOL sunflower field and stopped for some pictures.

Sometimes we just opt to enjoy the A/C and stay COOL in a movie theater (or playing the Wii – check out our new video). One of our new favorite movies is The Smurfs. Mom and Dad say the Smurfs were around when they were growing up. We didn’t know they were THAT old. Sheesh!

With all of our indoor and water activities, we have been keeping COOL, acting COOL, and having a SUPER COOL summer!

Summer Vacations & Summer “School”

We have been on road trips for a total of 29 hours out of the last 10 days. We did really good up until the last three hours of the last trip. Hey, you try being buckled in a car seat and subjected to your sibling’s choice of DVD all afternoon!

We started with a visit to Tennessee to wish Great Grandma Ebbers a Happy 80th Birthday!

While there we did a lot of swimming in preparation for swim school.

We also met and fell in love with our cousin Carleigh.

We had tons of fun with all of our Ebbers family and enjoyed our first venture out of Texas…although we hurried back.

We got home just in time for swim school.

Although we look like we love it in this photo, every day we tell Mom and Dad we don’t want to go back. They never fall for it. Good thing – because we secretly love it!

On a quick weekend break from summer “school” we took a trip south to San Antonio for Mom’s high school reunion and hugs and kisses from some of our favorite Harrelsons and Griffiths.

We had lunch by Papa and Grammie’s pool with Kendra and Ashley (Kyle had to sit at the big people table – poor guy!).

And then we went for a swing before another round of water play.

Cousin Rose brought cupcakes so we could have an “unbirthday party.” We haven’t been able to celebrate cousin birthdays because we don’t live close. It was fun to blow out candles and eat some cake!

We’re back to home sweet home just in time for a good night’s sleep. It’s a swim school night, so we need our rest!

Big Kids

Mom has a confession to make. We don’t think it’s a big deal, but Mom and Dad had us sleeping in cribs until about six weeks ago. Don’t worry, they were big comfy cribs. And we kinda liked having our own space at the end of the day. When you’re a twin, everything is fair game the minute your feet hit the floor. Mom said she would move us to big beds if we grew out or climbed out of our cribs. Climbing out never occurred to us.

A while ago, Mom and Dad got brave and told us we could start sleeping in our toddler beds. They were nervous that we would be running amok or falling head first down the stairs in the dark of night. Funny thing, neither of those activities have occurred to us either. (We must be pretty good kids.)

Dad worked hard this week to take apart our toddler beds/crib pieces and convert our beds to big beds. They are BIG beds. We love the extra space, and we love still sharing a room. Mason invited Morgan over for a slumber party tonight…it lasted about 30 minutes.

We also hit a new big kid playground this week. Seems like it was made for us!
